NSS Unit GEHU
NSS GEHU is a branch of the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun that aims to inculcate the spirit of social service in students. We are dedicated to nurturing socially responsible citizens and fostering a culture of volunteerism among our students.
Our NSS unit is an integral part of the university's commitment to social responsibility and community development. Over the years, we have orchestrated a symphony of projects and initiatives from promoting education and healthcare to championing environmental sustainability and upliftment of marginalized communities.
Established in 2014, the National Service Scheme unit at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun has been an emblem of service and commitment for nearly a decade. With an impressive cadre of approximately 800 dedicated volunteers represented by approximately 8 vibrant squadrons and around 50 committed cadets, our NSS unit has consistently exemplified the spirit of community engagement and social responsibility.

What we do
We organize a wide range of community service activities, projects, and initiatives throughout the academic year. These activities span various areas, including education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and social welfare. Our volunteers actively participate in:
- Community Outreach: We organize health camps, cleanliness drives, and awareness campaigns to address the immediate needs of the community.
- Education and Literacy: We support underprivileged students, conduct educational workshops, and promote literacy in the community.
- Environmental Initiatives: We work towards environmental conservation through tree planting, waste management, and awareness programs.
- Disaster Relief: During natural and man-made disasters, we provide essential relief, including food, clothing, and first aid.
- Skill Development: We provide opportunities for students to develop and apply their skills through practical community projects.
- Social Welfare: Providing support to marginalized communities through donations and skill development programs.
